The great crowd at the opening for the solo show in Pescara! Grande folla partecipa all'inaugurazione della personale a Pescara!

The opening of the solo show dedicated to "The Italian Gaze", at the Fondazione Pescarabruzzo, on Sep 9 2017, has been a memorable event! A selected crowd of friends and relatives, local authorities, and art lovers gathered in the beautiful gallery of the Fondazione, in my home town Pescara. After the ceremonial cut of the ribbon, we moved to the preliminary introductions, including an historical overview on animation in Italy by the film and animation historian Marco Bellano, highlighting affinities and differences between Italy and the rest of the world. Then "The Italian Gaze" was projected on a big screen, and the audience responded with an overwhelming long applause! A Q&A with me and with Bellano followed the screening; I was impressed by the quantity and the quality of the comments/questions I received. It felt really special to introduce my work in my home town!



L'inaugurazione della mostra personale dedicata a "Lo Sguardo Italiano" il 9 settembre 2017 alla Fondazione Pescarabruzzo è stato un evento memorabile! Un folla selezionata di parenti, amici, autorità locali e amanti dell'arte, si è riunita nella bella galleria della Fondazione, nella mia città natale, a Pescara. Dopo il tradizionale taglio del nastro, siamo passati alle introduzioni preliminari, inclusa una panoramica storica sul cinema d'animazione in Italia, offerta dallo storico del cinema Marco Bellano, che ha sottolineato le affinità e le differenze dell'Italia rispetto al resto del mondo. A seguire, c'è stata la proiezione de "Lo Sguardo Italiano" su grande schermo, a cui il pubblico ha risposto con un lunghissimo applauso! Un dibattito con il sottoscritto, Bellano e le persone presenti in sala è seguito alla proiezione; la quantità e la qualità degli interventi è stata impressionante. È stato veramente speciale introdurre il mio lavoro nella mia città natale!
